He participated in Bellator FC's inaugural Featherweight Tournament which he would eventually win to become the promotion's first ever featherweight champion. He's a very hardworking fighter who shows the work ethic and raw talent necessary to develop into one of the most complete fighters in the division.

Soto-Warren Greenlit for Bellator 27

20100901074359_joesototallBellator Fighting Championships featherweight champion Joe Soto and No. 1 contender Joe Warren made their requisite weights in anticipation of their championship showdown on Thursday at the Majestic Theatre in San Antonio.

The undefeated Soto weighed in at 144.8 pounds, while Team Quest’s Warren clocked in at 143.6 pounds.

The 33-year-old Warren, a 2006 FILA Wrestling World Championships gold medalist, earned a crack at Soto’s crown navigating through Bellator’s season two eight-man tournament earlier this year. Likewise, Soto, 23, weathered his own tournament during the promotion’s first season in 2009 to be crowned its first 145-pound champion.
